Yea yours is the same as mine but I don't think mine is bad, I was refering to the intake manifold on mine might be bad. I have a friend looking at my manifold tonight at work with a boroscope.

I have the same exact problem with mine during the winter, I don't get enought heat in the motor. My temp gauge never reaches 100dgs when the outside water temp id below 50dgs which is what I believe causes my excessive condensation.

Hey Garage, when I logged, we had one skidder that always ran cold and when I pulled the valve cover off to get to the injectors the whole top end had milky slime on everything. It all came from running too cold.

Hey guys I'm thinking about putting a valve to regulate the incoming water. I'm also putting in a 180 dg temp thermostat. What do you guys think about the regulating valve?

NO on the rgulating valve. Figure out why your set-up is bypassing first. Does your T-stat have a plastic sleeve that goes in and holds it upwards? The water should be able to circulate through the block all the time, but when the T-stat opens it allows it to flow out and suck in more from the raw water pump. Do you currently have a universal pump? I know some engine driven water pumps are directional, and some are able to turn either way. If your's is a serpentine only style, and you run it with a V-belt it will run to cold. The cooling sytem on your engine is so simple, it can be confusing. You could also have a blockage in your T-stat housing that is allowing the raw water pump to force cold water in. Take a picture of how your installing the housing, particularly the T-stat portion.

like Ferm said, if the thermostat is installed correctly, you shouldn't need anthign else to get the engine to run warmer, you shouldn't need that 180 thermostat. And a pic would help.

Spare you da man, you da man!!!!!

I think you found the problem with us talking , it sure des make since that without the thermastat attached inside the gasket the tehermastat would mov around in the housing and allow water to byp*** the thermastat. I'll be taking it out again this weekend or Monday so I'll post to let everyone know if this fixed my problem. Thanks again. Therm I still want that housing because mine does have significient corrosion, so let me know. thanks garage
