Default windshield question

there were some foam gasket things that ran under (between glass and boat) the windshields. i only have 3 of them left and they are pretty rore up. do i need these things? i am a little concerned bout water coming in under the glass but, i could caulk them. if they are needed, where can i get them? tx in advance.

If you can find exact replacement, I think it would be a miracle ;) ... I'd be lookin' for some thin rubber to cut to width or bed with 4200, but that's gonna be messier ... what ever you use, be sure it's impervious to the sun (UV rated) ... some kinda gasket material, maybe ... good news is, it won't take much ;) ...

From what I saw on mine I do not believe you would want use anything that sets up hard, the idea behind the rubber gasket material was to seal and to allow flex and vibration resistance. caulk above and below the gasket as an adhesive and water sealant, but I think replacing them with something hard like a 5200 would not be advisable. I would think a 4200 or something similar would be best. JMO
