Since I got the boat last fall, I thought all winter about what I wanted to do to replace the dash and gauges and switches. The original was acrylic and it had cracked where the screws held it in and where the tach was mounted it had cracked from top to bottom. The gauges had weathered and the fuel gauge did not work. I ordered the gauges and switch panel and a piece of Starboard cut to size. I took a couple of days this week and got it installed. I think the trouble and expense was worth it because it made a big difference in the appearance. Below are the before and after.

Step, After I read your post I checked the original panel and it is actually spelled correctly but it kind of all runs together. I had to look at it twice just to be sure.

You could like was mentioned before about covering the screw heads with caps but threw my experience they will fall off later and I like he screws showing but what I would do ( I don't know if you did it ) is have all the slots in the screws facing the same way so is the the slots are up and down all would be the same, that shows that you pay attention to the small details like electricians do all the slots on the screws on the switch covers should be the same direction if not get another electrician

Those on my dash have been there years. I have had them on & off, and they are still tight and hard to remove. (Bought them at West Marine $$). I bought some chrome plastic ones at Pep Boys for my license plate....all 8 were gone in a week.
