That's just the boat markey nowadays. Boats that would only fetch $2K 5 years ago are now fetching $5K in most places.

Come on, this one doesnt even have the easily repairable bulkhead rot. 10g's is a steal for a 16 year old boat. I've seen 96' Jersey V's go for that in slightly shiner condition

I am VERY biased, but the value of the V21s really depends on who you are targeting as buyer. If you compare the functionality of a V21 with other boats on the market, these boats aren't worth 10K (assuming an older engine) - comparing size, power, speed, handling, deck space, etc for a 15+ year boat.

But if you love/appreciate the look of these specific boats, and especially appreciate the Hunt hull design of the Vs, as well as the relative rarity of the V21s, then I can see why they could command a higher price. It's not insane to ask 10K for a v21, but you probably need to be prepared to wait until the right buyer comes along. It's almost like putting a value on a classic car.

That's probably a decent assessment given all the variables.

A truly MINT item.........if in scarse supply tends to bring a higher price than the average to very good. Referring back to the offer that included cash and a "super model" thrown in may be a good example. Super model of course depending on the reality.......are we talking " average super model" or ........super, duper super model ? The guy who sold his V21 for $ 12,000. That appeared to be close to honest MINT condition. A completely water logged V with warping transom, lousy wiring, decreped trailer, engine that barely runs, and an opposum nest in the cuddy just might not fetch as much....... |
