Yea Randal I wear shorts all the time outside and that is after a summer of sun, classic white boy, German stock.
Now when it gets colder and the chill is in the air I am still wearing shorts and love it when everyone else is shivering.
Retired and have been working for the past year but decided to quit and find something else, looking for a job as we speak. My bud Jeff there just got laid off from his company after 22 years too.
we are a couple of unemployed fishing bums right now, tuning super models and reducing the worlds stock of Pussers Rum by night and hunting the wiley finned ones by day.
Someone has to do it.

thanks guys, but I better find something decent soon, college bills are mounting and number two of four starts next september.

And Kevin power drifting can be done diffrent ways depending on what the conditions are, some power drift bow into current at enough rpm to create a good drift for fishing the bottom where the drift would not normally be enough, like slack tide.
Most guys who know what they are doing fishing for fluke especially will turn their stern into the current and bump the engine into reverse, usually at idle speed to slow their drift down so that their line is straight down as can be. Especially when fishing deeper water for fluke or when there is a lot of structure to get hung up on below.
When you are drifting and you have to much current or wind or a contrary wind current situation and your trying to hold bottom with a lot of weight you are screwing yourself up ususally, you'll find you have way to much scope of line out.
I fish 50-75 feet of water in a good current and rarely use more than about 6oz's in either weight or a Spro bucktail and I keep the line pretty close to straight up and down. sometimes I have to just leave it in gear and let it idle. I can usually tap tap my way along the rocks and structure and not get hung up doing it this way and my presentation is more natural.
Trolling and power drifting is why you see the old style bass boats and a lot of newer boats with the option of a rear cockpit helm station or in the old bass boat a binnacle control and a transom mounted manual rudder.
