First let me say thanks to Macajoe for getting my account squared away.

Well it all started when I saw a craigslist post for a V20 for sale about 5 months ago. I fell in love with the boats immediately. I have a ski boat but have been looking for something more fish friendly. I found this website and have been checking it out weekly ever since.....just dreaming. A guy in my neighborhood has a V20 in his backyard and I stopped a couple weeks ago when he was outside to see if he would let me climb up in his V and check it out.....amazingly enough he told me he was trying to give it away!!! I told him I absolutely loved those hulls and he said "do you mind If I ask why like them so much???"...what a boob. I hauled it off the next day (finally I'm the lucky guy that stumbles on something like that). It's an 89' outboard model with a rough dual axle trailer. The transom is solid and the floor has one soft spot about 3" in diameter just aft of the fuel tank cover. Other than that she really just needed to be cleaned up. It will be a while before she sees the water as I am on a limited budget (wife announced she's pregnant 3 days before the V came into my life). I've got the rod boxes out and the fuel tank cover and fish box cover doing some minor repairs to them. I live in Kingsland, Ga. and plan on using the boat in the intra-coastal and offshore waters of the Georgia and Florida coasts. Anywho...enough rambling let me get to my initial questions for the experts...there will be many more to follow I'm sure. - what is the capacity of the fuel tank? They are large plastic tanks under the deck. - the deck drains that are on the port and stbd. side aft of the deck that drain out the sides (mine are trashed)....should there be any kind of flapper/check valve in there to keep water from coming or is it simply that the deck is about the water line and "in theory" water won't come in?????? One more thing..I saw a posted picture of one of the members wearing a V-20 T-shirt. Where can I get one of those? I took some pics and will post them soon. ![]() Enjoy your weekend guys, Shane |

welcome to the site and being a new V owner, I can't answer for the gas tanks, both of mine are different only because one is metal and the othere is poly, but they both hold 60 gals.

I think some of the pre 90 models had dual tanks but you can search on the site and you should be able to find that info. I remember others talking about the same set-up as what you have.

Post pictures of everything, see if there are labels on the tanks that may be some reference, most have the capacity on them.

			Welcome to the site!!

You are well on your way to V20 land!! It is highly likely you have a 60 gallon fuel tank unless someone has switched it out. Congrats on your new addition(s) ....one in the oven and a V20 - best of both worlds!!
