| chris craft splashdown !!!

Well ,finally took the boat out friday after work and everything worked perfect, the ride on this boat compared to my old trihull was unbelievable, smooth as could be and very dry, went out in the bay in a 2 foot chop at about 30 mph and didnt get one drop of water on me.The old 235 ran like a champ 3800 rpm 37 mph on gps, topped out at 50 mph turning 5800 rpm !!!! which is a lot faster than i need to go but it was very smooth. The most impressive thing about the whole thing was the holeshot from standing still it seemed like the boat jumped out of the water and i was on plane in like 2-3 seconds...... very happy !!!!!! phone went dead so dont have a lot of pics but there will be more pics to come !!!!

Good Job!!!! There's nothing like the first splash of a boat you have fixed up yourself......of course splashing a NEW boat is probably fun too, but I'll never know.

Great job. I think your gonna really enjoy the boat. The more you use it the more you will find its a diamond in the rough. It will knock down a 2 ft. chop no problem, and is a very dry ride for a boat this size. You can get on top in 3's and with throttle management have a blast. Drifts great, nice and stable. For future reference, where and what fuel tank did you use for a replacement? |

it was a todd 55 gallon poly belly tank i got from boaters world for about $300.00 .I put padded rubber strips around it and on the bottom ,and fiberglassed 2x4's to the sides of the tank coffin on top of the tank with 1" rubber strips under the 2x4 ,the coffin lid sits on the 2x4 's. Its pretty solid and expanded a good bit when i filled it up it with fuel it compressed the rubber strips a little so it doesnt move around at all

The boat looks nice! I looked at going the Chriscraft way before I found my V20. It's amazing how similar the boats are. Looks like you had a great day for the splash. Congrats!!
