Talking Need Cowlings 1980 Merc.200hp

Lost my cowlings and the rear cowl bracket to some rough seas while fishing yesterday. Just so you know, they don’t float and boy, did they sink fast! The front hatch (the plastic type rather than the SS locking hatch) came undone, they opened like a clam. I looked back because the sound of the motor was louder than normal and at that moment, the cowl assembly’s rear bracket brakes off. In the dunk.... Immediately I shut down, told my fishing buddy "man overboard"" and dove in. They were going down fast and with very strong current going out and a 15-20 kt wind in the opposite direction, lost site of them very quickly. My friend could not start the boat and he too was moving away really fast in the opposite direction. Thank God my friend put down an anchor and it caught, but is was a very hard swim against the current back to the boat. The last few yards I was assisted with a throw cushion tied to a rope. Once inside, I took a break, tracked back with the GPS, dropped anchor and snorkeled (just a mask – no snorkel or fins) in circles (tied to a rope) around the boat for about an hour and a half. First with a 25' radius and then 50' but I could not find them. The trip back to the marina was at 7 mph because the motor would get swamped and shut down if we went any faster. After all the time we spend catching the baitfish, we ended up dumping them all. It was their lucky day...and mine too for not having drowned after diving under those conditions without even a life jacket.
Your help in finding the replacement is appreciated.

Phatdaddy, all 150 - 200 hp most likely will work and by the way, I was able to save the front cover. Some have SS vents towards the front, but as long as they look like this, they will fit.
On the older model 78-81, the front latch was stainless steel, the newer were plastic.

Thanks!

These were the ones I had, but then again, I think the SS vents are an after market for improved carb air.

I have a full set available, but are in Lewes, Delaware. I'm not sure when I will be back to Delaware, wo weeks I guess. If you look in my gallary, the one's i have are identical. Just stripped a 200 Merc. down for parts, plus rebuilt the lower unit. All are for-sale.
