52' reseach vessel

I look at this boat everytime I go across the James Island Connector. The boat was floating on an anchorage, the bilge pumps pulled the batteries down (no shore power to hook up, all wood boats leak some)to where the boat started going down, they called TowBoat who showed up with no pumps( guess they heard "research vessel" and figuired they would wait till it was "salvagable"). It took them three hours to get pumps to the boat( they are only 4 miles away by land). By that time the boat was under and they drug it to the bank so it wouldn't sink any futher. Once they figuired out this was a retired "reseach vessel" with out all the expensive research equipment for salvage rights, Tow Boat left, the boat has been sitting there since. A sad ending to what was once a good boat
