Default 2000 Johnson 9.9

I just bought a 2000 Johnson 9.9, I was winterizing it yesterday and thought the head was getting a little too hot. The motor was pumping water well out the telltale so I don't think its the water pump. My question is How hot should the head get?

M80 don't know what operating engine temp should be but had the same problem with a Force 50hp. Turned out the thermostats were not opening when they should or as large as they should could not tell which. They were just older and had a little corrosion. Replaced them and all was well, engine ran noticeably cooler
