I have a 9.9 horse Johnson that I would like to use as an auxiliary motor. I would use it for trolling for Salmon and Stripers (1.5-2.5mph). Will it push my new (to me) V-20?

CP - I had the exact same engine as a kicker (for a short period of time . . . until it was stolen). That engine was a great kicker and pushed the boat very well.

I use a 9.8 Merc. Works fine for me. Trolling speed for Walleyes 1.5 -2.2 MPH and I not even at half throttle.

Sounds like a great set-up...are you gonna connect it to the BIG motor so it'll steer from the helm?...
You might wanna take an idea from Bigshrimpin' and LOCK that kicker on somehow..... ;)

That's good news. I'll probably get a bracket to connect it to the stern drive for steering. I'll get a lock too! Thanks.
