Ran out to AR 315 yesterday around day break and the inlet was choppy as hell. 4 boats already there at AR 315 and lots of birds working a mixed school of albies and bonito . I picked up a couple of 7 pound bonito to eat and a bunch of bigger albies ( all on yellow 1oz bucktails ) which I always throw back and it started really blowing so I headed in around 10am. Once in I ran over to the haystacks and picked up 3 keeper trout and a 26 inch puppy drum under the 101 bridge drifting berkley gulp shrimp . The wind died down so I put down couple of live eels on botom rigs and started drifting in 34 feet of water back at the turning basin and lost one to a snag and the other one to something that ran out 250 yards of 40 pound line and snapped it. I had him turned once but he was just too strong .Probably a bull shark or cobia. It wont be long and the spanish will be stacked up in the inlet..Frank

I dont have a temperature guage so I dont know. I ran out again early this morning but even in my trusty V-20 it was just too much wind and they were calling for more so I cancelled . I am still amazed at how these little boats can handle such crappy seas and stay together . The big boys went out but I dont know where they were going. Frank
