Oh man, they covered this about a week ago instead of buffing. I'll try to find it. What ever happened with the cabin doors?

Look at "cleanup time" under "repairs". http://www.wellcraftv20.com/cgi-bin/...6318;start=0#0

CHeck out the above referenced post. To sand or not to sand, that is the question. Even light fading on a dark gelcoat will require some level of sanding. If your talking aobut the v20 light gelcoat - oh heck, I'm a advocate of sanding anyway. 1000 grit up - nothing coarser unless the fade is severe. I paint cars on the side as a hobby. COlor sanding through the full range of sandpaper grits followed by polishing will produce factory results. It requires light elbow grease but its worth it in the end. Maury

Polishing gel coat? Not for me, takes away from water time.

The other day when I was washing down the V after a day on the brine I was looking at a couple of new scratches on the side where the kids were holding the boat at the dock for me while I got the trailer and I thought, "Man I'm glad I don't have a nice new boat". Scratches on a nice shiney boat are a bummer, scratches on a dull faded boat.......who cares. |
