Default Part number 424253 quick silver

What does this part do? Item 424253 ( 3 way T ) ? Is it a fuel/oil check valve?

If you run your oil tank dry, or have an issue with the oil line, in the boat, it allows air in the line so the oil in the tank on the engine will gravity feed to the oil pump. Its kind of a siphon break

I think I remember my mechanic ( who I don't use anymore and is missing ) told me to change that valve because my engine would smoke a lot sometimes and told me it was that valve.
I did change it years ago but it seems my engine is getting bogged down with oil at start up
I ordered 2 only because I got them for $20.00 each and they cost over $50.00 at the shop
I hope this cures my issue
If it's bad would it cause oil to build up at start up?
Thanks spare ,when you move to New Jersey let me know first
I will be your first customer lol There are not to many good qualified Mercury mechanics anymore they all call them selves mechanic bug I think I know more than them
Thanks spare

how about I send everyone that moved down here back to New jersey, and Ohio, and Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts, and about 10 other states that decided to move to SC. Its getting crowded and expensive. Its hard to find anyone in either of the Carolinas that was born there(I'm from NC), let alone more than one generation deep.

I used to travel all over the North East when I worked for the sweeper company, there is some beautiful country up that way and some great people. I've been thru Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Upstate New York, and Vermont. I've talked to Willy about his area of New Jersey and it sounds great. I guess between the long cold winters and stupid high taxes, i can understand why everyone wants to move South. Wait till they experience a 90-90 summer( 90 degrees, 90%). I've been to Cleveland and fully understand why theres a constant steam of uhauls headed from there to Charleston. I just wish everyone that left an area would leave the reasons they left behind and not bring the problems with them.
