I know I'm asking a lot of questions but this site is my go to site
Today I was checking ignition wires for spark , I didn't have spark on the starboard side bottom wire so I pulled it out and it was broken at the coil end, would that cause it not to show park? Then I went up one plug, disconnected it and the motor bogged down and I had spark ( Good) Next I went to the top wire ( same side) and pulled the wire and had spark but there was no change in the motor , that's what I'm concerned about What do you think? Port side checked out good. It's a 1988 150 Mercury outboard 2 stroke and believe ie or not even with running on five plugs it sounds great I ordered new wires , two coils and I have the plugs so I'm going to change all of the above.

It's easy to do a continuity check on each wire. if you have a V.O.M. just set for Ohms and put one lead on each end of each wire and check for resistance. No change on the display = bad wire.
