Greetings all,
A guy I work with recently purchased a 2016 Key West 239 with a Yamaha 300. He can't get the hood off the motor to check the oil, says that 2 of the latches won't budge. Any tips or tricks?

Yeah, I saw all the stuff on the Internet...figured I would try asking here figuring Spare or Ferm may have dealt with it.
His biggest problem is that the dealers are all 3 weeks behind and your boat has to be on their lot to hold your place in line.

When was the last time he had it off?

Never, he just bought it Friday.
He bought it from a rich guy who pays another guy to store it, put in, take out, have maintenance done. That guy claimed preseason maintenance was done, but not by him, by a dealer. So really no telling. It is only one latch btw.

put some *** on it, if it breaks, that's the pat you have to grind off, drill, etc,, anyway. I haven't run across it myself, I keep my customers stuff maintained. Great motor otherwise
