Default Drain Plug

I have a 1982 wellcraft v20 center console and I bought it without the drain plug. I bought one from the hardware store but it was too small. Is there a specific plug or size I need?

You know Nick,I'm not sure what size they are I think it's one inch but I'm not 100 percent sure. You are talking about the drain plug located on the bottom of the outside on the transom ? If that's the plug then go to you local Walmart and go to the fishing and boating department and they have them there for about 3 dollars , you want the one that has a T handle the other one is good too but I prefer the T handle model tighten it by hand than get pliers and snug it up real good not to tight just enough so it doesn't come out when your moving good luck in your search .

You don t say if you have a rubber plug or the threaded Garboard type plug. I think step is right, the rubber one is 1 inch and the threaded one is normally 1/2 pipe thread. If you need the rubber one and the one you bought is too small, they will expand as you tighten them.

Do an Amazon search for boat drain plugs and see what s out there.
