Default Advice on Floor paint, compound, wax and more!

I am in the final stages of my restoration and have some questions on everyones favorites:
  • Floor Paint - I like the battleship grey color that it is, so I guess I'm looking for brand suggestions
  • Compound for Gel Coat restoration (I've heard 3M is good)
  • Favorite wax/sealer for Gel Coat?
  • Brand of gloss for my newly refinished teak items (all non-floor related) -- I hear that Awl Brite makes a good one? I used Cetol Natural for my stain... open to everyone's thoughts

I used Durbak on my 14 Mckee as a not slip, it worked real good as a nonslip, it was very aggresive. Pain to keep clean though. I think Im going to try Kiwi grip next time

whatever you paint the deck with, it will have to be redone eventually. i have friends who use a good grade porch/garage floor paint. it;s just a matter of how soon you want to re-do it. i used a rusteolum product that was 2 part paint. relatively cheap, around $100 for a gallon of paint and a gallon of activator. the nice thing was i could just tint as much as i needed for a particular project.

lot of guys use the coatings like skunk & spare mentioned. i worry about if you don't like it, pia to get off. plus some a little aggressive on bare feet and possibly hot also.

i think destroyer used a coating on his deck and is very pleased, maybe he'll add some insight

i used the cetol marine gloss on my teak. i also think the high gloss holds up better than semi or satin.

I used glidden porch and floor tinted seafoam green on my 19 ft skiff. Used maybe a fifth of the gallon. If it starts to look like it needs a touch up it takes less than an hour to do the whole thing drinking beer. Costs like 20 bucks.

This is what I'm going with... except tinted battleship gray. And of course the beer... hahaaa! Thanks for the advice.

I used U-Pol Raptor Truck bed liner (Like Rhinoliner). It's great. No staining, no pealing, easy wash off with my pressure washer, looks like brand new and it's 3 years old already. Soft on the bare feet, GREAT non skid properties. Fills in and seals cracks when applying. Only thing I might say is I wouldn't want to try removing it. It comes in a variety of stock colors or you can tint it to almost anything your heart desires. I tinted mine to light tan and I'm super happy with it. You can find it on eBay easy enough. Just type in U-Pol and hit search. Not cheap, and it took 3 kits to cover my deck, so figure between $300-$400 for the job. And like everything else, preparation beforehand is the key to a good job. You can see my results by doing a search of these forums. Go here for some pics of the restoration and the deck after it was done. http://www.wellcraftv20.com/communit...ight=Destroyer
