Headed down after work on Friday to do some fishing. Wasn't sure about the forecast with rain all over but the wife was having her girly time for her birthday this weekend......in my man cave! So, with me being kicked out of my humble abode, me and a buddy headed to Surfside Beach, SC to fish. Watched sailflow and the others carefully, bought squid for bottom fishing and mud minnows for inshore (just in case).

Rounded the jetties to a nice ocean, look at the GPS and still acquiring satellites??? WTF, so I pushed some buttons, pushed more buttons, found some setting to tell it to look again and finally it picked up. Don't know exactly what I did but.......anyway, all good. lol Headed to the bottom fishing grounds 43.5 miles. Started off with bucktails. Not long after I pulled up a stud BSB. Had a hard time with the current getting the jigs down so we switched to bait. I put down a 4 hook rig loaded with squid, 1st drop came up with a micro beeliner, micro seabass, and a micro gag grouper. All swam to grow up. Then we picked at the stud bass on bait for the next few hours until we got our limit.Something happened to me that doesn't normally happen. I got motion sick about as soon as we pulled up on the spot. I think I may have had a little too much the night before which had a lot to do with it. I was a trooper tho and stuck it out. About the time we got our limit, I started feeling better and we did a few more drifts until we ran out of squid. Got a couple more species, red porgy and a couple of white grunts. Fun day. Left the dock at around 9 am and got back around 6 pm. My girl (daughter) in the pic.

Thanks B! Jealous of ya'll for still having the opportunity to get stripers off your coast. They've not really been off of NC and VA for the last couple of years.....we used to slay em December thru February.

Got the V backed into the building last night and noticed one of the rear trailer tires slack. Jacked it up, spun the tire and heard it hissing....pulled a 2 inch screw out of it and popped a plug in there. Crisis averted!
