Default Worst boat representation by seller.....

Here's a good one - ever look at a boat listed as " excellent condition " etc and it's a dog ?

When I was shopping for my V21, and Mako before it, found some real " funny" boats.

1. A V sitting on trailer that was sinking into the ground, out in the weather with only a partial cover for 2-4 years, they weren't sure, and all the related issues listed as EXCELLENT !

2. Then there was a V.....told the guy I was only interested if it was in fantastic shape all around. Seller said " oh yeh, absolutely ". Got to the boat and knew almost instantly - dog. Bad transom, deck was " swollen " etc etc. Bye bye.

3. Then there was the V21 listed as MINT !!!! MINT....as in perfect right ?
Turns out it had a soft deck,, but, but, but, only in the one spot at the helm station.
I said, well then it certainly isn't MINT, because MINT is perfect, and a soft deck is significant.
The guy then wrote a post about how tough people are to deal with from New Jersey.
Well if honesty is being " tough to deal with" then so be it.

It is all relative. If all you ever had for a boat was an absolute scow, then a barn find with ferns growing out of the transom might be the mint boat in excellent condition you've been searching for..

I got a little mad when I drove a few hours one way to look at a Legend bass boat (Bullet Copy). There wasn't one square inch of gelcoat that wasn't crazed. Hull repairs were made with matt and on the outside without any signs of sanding, or prep for that matter. Carpet peeling up everywhere, no seats, no motor and floor was soft..trailer was a painted steel trailer and was nearly rotted in two.. BUT It had a jack plate, hot foot and hydraulic steering that was nearly worth what he was asking for the entire combo. I mean, the boat and trailer was a complete POS, the value was there in the parts and pieces. I don't blame a guy for knowing exactly what his stuff is worth..I just hated to make the 4hour round trip to discover this to be the case.. LOL! Live and learn.

I'm with you Bgreene, but it goes both ways. I try to be as factual as possible in my ads and people come by, if they even show up at all, and want to nit pick everything that's wrong with a boat that...

This post is meant in fun............ as searching for a boat can be, and sometimes not.

I'm lucky to have the V21, enjoyed each time out.
