I'm going. Going to Screwsbury Rocks and kill me some BSB and Stripers. Gonna use eels, I've been keeping them in the wife's fridge for two weeks...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1RLdQTw7lc

hehehe yeh I've seen that one before. Funny stuff.
Not funny however was going out at 7, drifting for 3 hours and catching 2 tiny baby fluke. I give up on them. Have't had a decent day of fluking in 6 years. I used to be somebody, now I suck. If you see me around, go fish somewhere else. I'm golfing until November stripers...

Suggestions.............. 1. Drift around the Shark River inlet and wait for the fluke boats to go out.......then follow and fish around at very proper distance . Boats such as Big Mohawk target fluke and know well where biting. * They wouldn't be happy with me for this suggestion....but it's a " free ocean. " 2. Rig with a smaller offering above the bottom - about 10" above the sinker, run a short leader of maybe 4"- 6" with a white 4" gulp grub teaser . Jig with nearly constant little motion. 3. Run north........ I don't know if it's true, but I caught most fish this year off the Sandy Hook beaches in 28' of water, then also fish the edges of the deeper Ambrose channel. I'm no fluke expert, but if you had a bad year, maybe this will be of use some day. |
