Default New Envinude G2 Etec

Read a comparitive report indicating the G2 provides " noticeable improved fuel economy and performance over current Etec .....

Hummmmm............ we'll need to find someone willing to put one on a V20 / V21 .
Minimum of 200 HO variety so we can discuss " how fast " etc.

Let's start another " biggest engine on a V thread " .....

I'd say an Etec 200HO and Merc Opti 225 is the biggest outboard I've noticed.

I'd like to rig one of the 400hp racing outboards on my V21......just for a day.

Wellcraft should have had the max rated at 225 instead of 200.
Too conservative. The Evinrude 225 HO likely puts out 240 hp at the prop.

The V-20's from about the late 70's on were rated at 235HP, the V-21 was the one rated for 200HP.

That's what my most recent purchase had, I'll have to ask the owner what he made top end, although I suspect his prop wasn't tall enough. My old 2.5 litre Mercury pushes my boat to almost 50 in flat water, but it's a rare day I can go anywhere near that fast. I'm looking to repower & my first choice is a 150 2 stroke. It seems the best weight to power bet.
