Default Badin Lake, NC Report

My buddy Dave picked me up at 0500 today and we drove to the lake, we were first on the ramp, and we got to the first fishing spot at 0600.

We were fishing out of Dave's Basstracker TX 17.

It was a super nice day to be on the water, even fresh water. *Together we caught and released 7 largemouth bass by 1100. *Dave had a nice one about 3 pounds (pictured below) and I had one straighten the hooks out on my Bagley "Killer B", we are guessing it was around 6 pounds. *

I hooked two other fish that we never saw, they must have been huge catfish or stripers cause they both ran into the submerged trees and broke me off. *I was not able to slow them down even a little bit. *(I lost 2 "Big O's" in the process @#$% it.)

All in all, it was a very nice morning of fishing.

I know that fish doesn't look like its 3 pounds, but Dave is about 6'6" and 275#'s.

Badin is pretty. I've had my v down there at least once, maybe twice can't remember.

Good report. Next time the runaway trains come out you'd better crank that drag down tight. Better to break your line than get pulled into the underwater forest! You would have been the apple of Reel's eye had you pulled up a nice linesider ;D
