Default Converting cuddy to cc

Has anybody here ever converted a cuddy to a cc? I know it's a big undertaking but here lately I've really been wanting a cc but I've put so much work into my boat that I don't really want to let it go completly and I think it would be cool to have a I/O center console. I thought about selling it but nobody seems to have money and everyone wants to trade for garbage stuff. I definitely don't have room to have another boat in the yard so keeping this one and buying another isn't in the cards. So does any one have any info on doing a conversion? I know how to do fiberglass work.

There are a few great rebuilds on here, with steplift- cc conversions. Im actually doing the same to a 1975 steplift, although their might be too much delamination in the hull I have. Either way I will be restoring a V20, I just love the hull. Kracker, Dan, and quite a few folks have great build threads here and they are all great at sharing their experience and advice

I have a build thread, just starting, in the repair section

Post pics, These guys love boat porn!
Good luck!

Don't do it. These boats are so cheap now . . . just buy a center console. It takes 100's of hours of labor and the material cost will be thousands of dollars. Unless you do really really professional work . . . you'll wreck the resale value of the boat. You are much much much better off selling your v20 steplift and buying the center console version of the v20.

bret, i've always wanted to put a center console in a cuddy hull. eliminate the windshield and the helm area. then put a small center console midship. i had 2 center consoles before the cuddy and i would miss the cuddy, but this would allow easier access to the bow area and fishing from the forward area of the deck.

kind of a smaller version of this

Can you post more information about this 1994 V20. I have money in hand (well it's really in the bank) and I'm about to buy a Maycraft but would like a good V.
