Default Evinrude etec 60hp??

Looking at 17ft with 60 hp 2007 evinrude etec- meter says 37 hours. Know nothing about these motors. Guessing injectors vs carbs. Need help!

Boat in heated storage last 4 years. Owner has had medical problems and hasn't used boat during storage.

Thanks in advance.

have it checked out by some one who really know e-tecs, make sure they run the serial numbers for upgrades and recalls. I particularly don't like them, there are not many around here, and no one sells them new here. But a lot of people love them and praise them. They have had a lot of upgrades and changes over the years. If its been in storage, it may have missed some of those upgrades, and they can be expensive if you are paying out of pocket. Also, if it as not stored properly, fuel system issues can get very expensive(that goes for any engine, especially if its fuel injected).

Default Thanks

Thanks Spare, I was guessing that these engines were not the most popular and the 4 year storage bothered me. I pine for the days of my 1950's Evinrude 15 hp. Even at age 14 I could always make it run.

Wife is trying to talk me into a new boat - I know, unusual - but I hate to put out $20,000 for a few days fishing each year.

its all about how much $. If the engine checks out, you like it and the price is right, go for it.
