Interesting old school project I thought I'd share.

Ferm didn't you say some of those old Evinrude V8's are worth money?

cool boat but you'd need at least three spare motors to keep that thing going. We had a customer years ago that had a 42 Sutphen with four of those on it, we kept one spare power head and two spare lower units ready at the shop just so he could use his boat. He rarely came back from a weekend run with all four running

The FORMULA 1 V8's are worth some serious money, those appear to be just early small bore GT's. I seen 3 of them sell for $1500 a few months back on CL as complete not locked up parts engines. Not to mention how much fuel you would need to feed it. Those things can suck down in excess of 32-34 gallons of fuel an hour, EACH! So if you want to hammer down, plan on going through 100 gallons an hour of fuel(or down here about $475 an hour after you figure in oil and non ethanol fuel).

You said it. Ouch! But what a cool boat. "Double Down" with two of those Seven Marine outboards. Freshen up the topside and the scantlins and what a machine this would be. On a repower, I don't think twin 350's would be enough juice? Three Might sink her by the stern...

I agree with what y'all said. If you could talk them down some and were good at glass work, rigging and painting, plus could afford to re-power you could have a cool rig. Probably a hundred pounds of teak you could take off, not to mention that tower.

i just realized this thing is local and after I figured out where the boat is and who has it listed, I'd offer to only charge them $5000 to dispose of it
