Theres not a lot of piers on the west coast until you get south of north TAMPA as thewater is about a 1:1 drop(for every mile it gets roughly 1 foot deeper, and yes we have spots 11 miles out you get out and stand in). Tampa Bay has a few piers on the Gulf, and a couple on the actual Bay. At the mouth of Tampa Bay you can still get out by the skyway and fish(but not as far out as you used to be able to), and to the south of Tampa Bay there are Jettys that you can walk out and fish off of as well. On the East coast I don't think there is very many piers left. If you head down to the keys there is fishing galore along the roadside as well as off of most all of the bridges.

Cool list Phat. Not all inclusive by any stretch. I know of a pier in Anna Maria Island near Bean Point across from the old Fast Eddie's that is still open. Some of the best fishing from shore is from bridge abutements and wing walls at the base of bridges. My favorite place is Coquina beach at Longboat Pass. You can fish the beach , the bridge or the ICW from shore there. Lots of shade avail. with tables, benches and Austrailian Pines that can serenade you into a coma-like sleep after a hard bit of fishing. Seagrapes, seashells, even a shower facility to tidy up before moving on.
