morse controls for my old evinrude?

I'm looking for a single knob morsel style old school type control for my build. Can you use and regular type model? Or is there a inboard model and a outboard model? Or are they universal?

my teleflex controls were universal and came with various adapters and instructions for different outboards and inboards..... That said, they didn't have quite enough throw for my 1975 merc without the handle hitting the dash and the only help that teleflex could offer was that I needed to space it away from the dash several inches with wood to allow the handle to travel more than 180 degrees.... Poop on that! I welded a tiny tab to the linkage inside the shifter and added 3/4" more throw (factory tech guy said that was impossible lol)

I'd say that it is very unlikely that you'll have the same problem with a 'rude tho
