Default Northwest coast fishing

Well the O'l V held up once again out in the big blue. I found a rock covered in HUGE ling cod and snapper. The salmon and Halibut fishing was slow to say it nicely but we did get 9 salmon and 1 nice halibut. Some of the lings we cought were over 60Lbs the smallest was 30Lbs. Now for a story that turned out well but could have been way worse. The last day we went out we only put in 3/4 of a tank we wern't going out far anyway. when we got to the salmon hole the gas guage was acting funny kind of bouncing or fluttering about. I mentioned it to Brett so we decided to pack it in for the day and head into the harbor and get some crabs for the cold beer waitting for us. we got half way accros and the fule warning alarm went off we turned around and went with the 4 foot chop into a safe bay to wait for my dad. He showed up and i got some gas off of him my guage showed 1/4 full when it went off figured it was just the angle of the boat in the waves. The guage showed 1/2 full so we headed accross the light went off again so I shut my big engin off and turned on the kicker it run for 5 min then run out of gas the guage read 1/3-1/4 full. I called my Dad again and his day was over as well he had to tow me in 8 Miles to the dock. No crabs!Lots of. so I have some work to do now! Anyway here are a few pics for you.

Great fish porn!

Lucky you found that fuel gauge problem when you did.

Thats the thing about them float sensors, they gotta be adjusted right or they are dangerously misleading.

It was a little better than avrage bottom fishing. The Halibut fishing is REAL slow Dad talked with a guy how just came down from Alaska. He said they here closing down much of the Halibut fishing up there reports coming in from comercial and sports fishermen isn't good at all. They are saying that NO ONE is getting thers Halibut. Fear is rising that they are suffering mabie from polution in the deep seas. Very few Halies here hitting the docks at Rupert I seen the sports fleet out after them and I fished for them for 3 days and had one bite and he got clubed for it. I will look into it a little deeper tommorow .
