			can i use a 292 straight six out of a old chevy truck as long as i change the freeze plugs and use marine gaskets and dirtibutor and can i still use the same out drive

			what was in it before??  most ran chevy 250,i used a chevy 350 out drive but had to have it rebuilt with the right gear ratio

			The 292 is taller than the 250, you will need a longer exhaust bellows from the elbow to teh exhaust pipe. Way back when, I wanted to swap in a 292 and use a four barrel Q-J on it(the factory intake will accept it if you pull the adapter plate off). cam shaft might be a bit different, but first of all, make sure the motor is worth messing with, they haven't made them in quite a while

			mercruiser actually put out a few... I think they were around 200 hp I had a 292 that I put in a suburban.... GOBS of torque.... Make sure that either it will accept the front motor mount from the 165 or that you can use side mounts in your hull. |

			it had a 250 but the guy i got it from is a lil shady supposed to be a new block and internals looks clean but just not to sure
