2003 Yamaha Pro V 150...opinions please

I think I can get this motor for around $3k, but the owner doesn't know how many hours are on it. Any pointers on what to look for? Is it a good motor? Pros/cons?

I don't think it's 2003 based on my searching. Here's a pic. Would still appreciate opinions.
