I am in the process of installing a windlass. The instructions say to run #6 wire from the battery to the 80 amp breaker and continue wiring.
My question is if currently I have # 6 wires going into a fuse block, can I go from the main input line to the breaker thus avoiding the 15' wiring job which includes fishing wires etc. Of course, I will not go from a fuse but from the incoming lead. |

I'd run the windlass off of your second battery, they can cause a pretty big spike when used. It'll keep your electronics from blinking out

Thanks, guess I will have to do the "look for the wire" thing. Tomorrow I will start the search.

Hate to say it, but the other posts are correct. This is one of those "have to look for the wire" moments. I'd suggest getting an electricians fishtape from Harbor Freight. Less than $10 bucks and makes fishing wires a WHOLE LOT easier.
