Default Mercury spitting out water where it should not be

Yesterday I noticed my 1996 Mercury 115hp 2 stroke was spitting out water from where the midsection meets the powerhead. I am wondering what it could be, a bad seal somewhere in there?

Others will be on here later than know yr motor better than I do but it may be like my small Johnson, the pisser tube (flexible) falls inside the motor housing and leaks from the midsection.

How difficult is this to DIY? I'm pretty comfortable wrenching but I have limited marine engine experience. If its going to be a big project to get at it I'd rather give it to someone else to do, its too hot to keep her down for too long.
