Default Gulf Of Mexico Oil Spill/Leak

I know most of you are on the East Coast, but I thought I would share what we are dealing with here...

All the cnn & other alarmist news is just not in the know...

It is bad, and will probably get worse... but the best & brightest are REALLY working on it...

This is a Sat picture from Hilton Offshore... showing the fishing areas that are closed...

We on the Texas coast are not affected YET, but I think we will see some damage.. hopefully it does not get into the incubaters

I really hope that this is not alarmist as I still think we need to keep looking & producing if we are to sustain a viable cost of our energy in this country...

And, yes, I am retired from the O&G industry....

As someone in our present Government said.. "Never let an emergency go to waste".

I personally think that we should all relax and let the experts do what they can to fix the problem. I suspect that there will be plenty of time for finger pointing when it's over. Right now we should all be working together to fix the problem. Thank you for the sat pic. I wish I knew what the colors meant... I suspect that the purple is the worse?

Destroyer

The part inside the red dots is closed to all boat traffic, both rec & comercial...

Here is a link to the trajectory of the oil spill on a daily basis...

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/37133684/ns/gulf_oil_spill/

The larger red dot in the center is where the rig went down.

Hope this clarifies some...

It is pretty depressing. I do not know anything about the area but the bank that runs right through the middle of the closed area seems prime for tuna. Hopefully some good will come from this. Don't get me wrong, I am a serious motorhead; boats, dune buggies, raced motocross for a while and so on but I would love to see a better way to power my hobbies. So sad about the 11 men too.
