If you look at the 5th pic the trim tab switch is tyhere, and yes they have a inline fuse. BS put a 15 in it and we blew it at sea the other day, But I had more on board and replaced with a 30 now no more issues.

I have a Blue Seas fuse panel in the electronics box for the Radar, and Spreader lights, hope that stays well?
I have to get a few more pics also to post.

I also did not go the heat shrink root because in my eyes its just another way to let moister in and then it has a hard time drying. I used Liquid Electric Tape instead, I put 2 coats on all and that seals it all tight.
Thats just my way, I am sure you be fine.

You are right about heat shrink...it leaves gaps, particularly at the ring...won't close down tight...I don't wanna change in mid-stream...and the HS is a step up from what I did in the 74...crimp and go there...and in 11 years never had a failure...but then she didn't see as much salty stuff as you guys do up there...that sh!t's ROUGH on stuff!!...

The temp gague malfunctioned the other day while out running the river. After jiggling the wires,..it works.
Rewiring behind the panel of my '77 V-20 Cuddy on the to-do list.
