Default Swim platform bracket replacement

Can anyone point me in where to look to find a replacement lower bracket for my swim platform. Unfortunatly no pix, but its a relatively 'standard' style small platform that's mounted to port side of my outboard.

The bracket I need is the one that runs below the platform and mounts to the boat. It's heavily rusted out. Sort of L shaped. I was thinking of fabricating something, but maybe folks here know a source for such parts?

On mine it's supported by a straight arm that goes from underneath the outter edge of the platform on about a 45* angle down to the transom...it wouldn't be too hard to find a length of SS tubing (pipe), cut it to length, flatten both ends, drill holes for screws in both flat ends and screw 'em in place...

Thanks Reel, great idea. I will measure it up and get myself some bow railing, should work just fine. I try not to step on it myself, for fear of embarrasing my self when it lets go, but my boys use it a bunch when having diving competition off the bow

Do that tubing right and you won't need to worry...if mine'll hold my fat-
@$$, you shouldn't have any probs!!...if yer really worried about it, flatten the ends a little longer and use two screws on each end...1/4"ers...
