Not yet done, but after seeing another post where someone repaired the boxes decided to try.
It's coming out quite good. Sanded teak, reinforced the plastic lip all around the boxes with fiberglass. Also filled in any missing pieces on the lip with glass. Painted boxes and working on teak. Unfortunately the teak which goes around the box was broken beyond repair. If anyone has an extra set let me know. Otherwise I'll prob. build the trim from starboard. I'm in the middle of doing the same thing. Your look really good. My V20 is 1989 and does not have the teak trim around them. I was trying to figure if they were plastic, but you answered by question. So I have some questions:
1. what paint did you use to paint the boxes? 2. when you fiberglassed did you use epoxy or polyester resin? 3. what finish did you use on the teak?

I've gone on the cheap on this as a test.
-Rustoleum ivory spray can on the rod boxes. -Epoxy resin on the glass. -Using some oil on the teak from home depot, but I may revert to sealing with a sealant instead of just oil as oil seems to stay moist and could bleed on to the deck. Hoping to find some teak or starboard for trim. |

Well, all looks good in the pics, I'll post some stuff when I'm done my 1 of many projects.
I plan to use Epiphanes for my teak, and I'll probably get the same paint you've used. I do plan to re-inforce the lip of the box, but I don't have to teak to worry about. Thanks for the tips.
