I have been tossing around the idea of flipping my 81 to do some work on the bottom (remove bottom paint, fill scrapes etc..). Has anyone done this and how crazy of an idea is it? I would of course remove everything topside including windshield... Is it easier to just do the work with her on the trailer? Thanks. Craigan.

How hard was it? What did you use to get it flipped, and did you use the casters like the mako in that link? Thanks.

3 of us flipped my sea ox once and 3 of us flipped a 23 Rinken i had, lay them on the ground rock till it rolls over but the turn back over was harder took 8 of us.

We have done a couple of 16 footers that probably would have busted the sides by rolling over, so we made this to help.
![]() We happen to have a couple of trees just far enough apart to back the trailer between them, lift with come alongs, spin the boat over and lower back on trailer with supports (blocks of Styro foam worked best). So far the center weight of the boats have been this thing mounted in the lower motor bolt holes and using the front bow eye. Like Skools said, they are fairly easy to roll over, LOTS more energy to roll it back in place.

Use a couple of tractors, hook to the ski rings on the transom and the bow ring and have each tractor back up; this will pull the rope tight and you can then turn the boat upside down and it wont hit because it will be off the ground.
