Default Wiring New Fuel System

I am in the process of replacing basically my entire fuel system. I was able to find an almost exact replacement for the original aluminum tank in my '89 Wellcraft V20 Steplift. The only difference was that my old tank had 2 grounding tabs - 1 near the fuel fill at the front of the tank and 1 near the sending unit / pickup at the rear of the tank. The new tank only has one tab at the rear. Although the wiring had degraded and rusted off long ago it appeared that the fuel fill was grounded to the front tab and the rear tab was grounded to the battery in the rear. Not having a forward tab I'm thinking about either running the wire from the fuel fill to the rear tab which would also hold the ground wire to the battery. My other (and probably easier option) is to ground the fuel fill to the negative system bus bar. Does anyone have any input on this? I'm also thinking of grounding the rear tab to the outboard motor mounting stud instead of the negative battery terminal. Any thoughts on that would also be appreciated.

Thanks,

Paul K

I sure don't know every scenario that will work...but I know one that will...bring two grounds from same connector that will attach to tank on the tab provided...route one to the fuel-filler and one to either the (-) battery post or ground that exists under your dash, whichever is closest or easiest to access..the idea of grounding to your motor PROBABLY will work, I just don't KNOW it will and don't wanna tell you something I personally haven't done...
