Default Trolling Motor

Hi, I am a new member and currently looking at an 85 v20 cc. I was wondering if anyone has a trolling motor on the bow of there V. I know the boat sits out of the water pretty high and don't know if there's a trolling motor long enough to work with this boat. What is the height from the bow to the water at rest? I would really like to buy this boat but I really need a trolling motor for the type of fishing I do.

Welcome Cajun Country. Someone posted the same question a couple of weeks ago. Type in trolling motor on the search feature or ask Reel. I think Stinky Hooker has a trolling motor too.

Wecome to the site.

There are plenty of trolling motors that are long enough, the question is, is you wallet fat enough to buy one?

Here's that other thread.

Cool

Thanks for the help guys. I am going to look at the boat in a few days.
By he way, does $2500 sound about right for a 85 v20 with a 2003 tandem alum. trailer. Boat looks like it is in good shape. Shiny!

less than what I paid for mine ('86) but that was before the economy took a dive.....what kind of power? in my opinion any boatwith a trailer that is not wrotted and has a working motor is worth $2500. And that newer trailer is a bonus.. I kind of ignored my trailer when I bought my boat...approx $400 later it now has new brakes, new (used) tires and rewiring......

welcome

do you have a motor & controls available? if you do and the trailer is in real good shape, its probably a good deal. if you have to come up with a motor & controls & rigging and the trailer needs springs, tires , etc. not so good
this one is 10 years older, but
http://panamacity.craigslist.org/boa/1023895299.html

this one has "new trailer"

If you are still looking, go for the mid 80's up because of fuel tank, deck layout & height.

good hunting

Not sure where you are , these are from the new orleans craig list,

This is a cuddy converted to a center console, i think it belongs to a member here

not sure bout this one

I agree w/the rest of the guys...if hull and trailer are in good shape, then $2500 is a good price...didja walk around on the floor feeling for soft spots?...can you tell if the transom is solid?...are all the hatch-lids there and in good shape?...do you see any cracks on the bottom of the hull along where the stringers are?...

Good luck w/it...post up some pics if ya get it...we likey pics

I have not had a chance to look at the boat in person yet. Owner works offshore and won't be back for a week.

Buying a boat with a motor is overrated. Suitable power can be had for under a grand easy. If the boat's in really good condition, get it. That's the hard to find part anyway.
