Default Taking on some water???

Hello everyone! Thanks for the add! I got an 86 v20 dual console sport fish about a month ago maybe?? I’ve taken it out on the coast of Southern California and I’ve noticed that when we pull the drain plug a ton of water is coming out. Maybe 5 gallons?? I’m not so sure how accurate that estimation is. Turns out the weak bilge pump that was in there was turning on but not actually pumping. I went out and bought a 1200 because that one was a 450. So we shall see how that works. But my concern is where is the water coming from in the first place?? I e read about thru hulls and deck drains and rub rails I don’t know how to go about attacking any of those tasks and I don’t have a ton of cash. What recommendations do you guys have? Look forward to hearing from you guys!

I do t know who says it but maybe I should just run her? Ha ha

I replaced the bilge. The bilge hose was plugged up with crap and I got it all cleared out. The new bilge pump works great.
I was curious to know how hard and expensive it is to replace the fuel lines???

And what are the cheapest yet still safe to use thru hulls?? And where do all the thru hulls hoses run to??
I know stainless or bronze is the best. But those things are like $30 bucks a piece. I***8217;m active duty military and don***8217;t make a ton of money

I m not real sure of the deck layout of the dual console, but I noticed u have a kicker motor. Is the deck wet when ur sitting still? If so water could be leaking in through the seams over the fuel cell and down to the bilge. Probably not but never know

As far as the thru hulls, how many do u have and how many are below the waterline.

Could also be leaking where the scupper drains go thru the hull, those I would spend the money on and bed them in well. Lotta guys use 5200 or Life boat caulk

Post bigger pics of interior layout of deck

Maybe a dually guru will chime in

I’m not exactly sure how many thru hulls I have I need to check. The kicker is counter balanced by the bait tank in the opposite side. When we are out there not even moving we take no water on the deck.
I’ll try to get more pictures of the lay out. But don’t just her too much she needs some deck paint. This is the only pic I have right now but I’ll grab some more

There are hoses that run from the deck drains to the through hulls on the sides, I had one fail once, let in a lot of water.

Welcome aboard. Glad to see you finally got permissions to post, etc. It's so much easier to answer your questions here rather than on the other site.

Good that you got the bilge pump installed and the bilge cleaned. I think that's going to solve 90% of your bilge water problems.

Pics are always welcome here, and like the saying goes, are worth a thousand words.

Good looking boat.
