Default Came home from the Red Sox game...

Last friday night, came home from the sox game (went with my son), got home past 12 am (way past my bedtime). My wife had taken our dog earlier in the morning and was visiting friends in Maine. I noticed the front door open (storm door closed). I thought, how could she leave the door open like that???

So I go in our house and notice my 50 inch TV is missing, stereo and all on the floor:

(sorry for the poor picture, wife took the good camera-good thing)

Then I check out the bedroom, air conditioner pushed in on the floor, ALL of the wife's ***elry cases open and empty!

A very nice office came and checked it all out and then called the county sheriffs to come and look for prints and take pictures. He was out front and he yelled "found your TV"! Sure enough, it was there in a little wooded path we have (we have a horseshoe driveway and the middle is wooded).

OK, so they took our playstation 3 with a couple controllers, a few HDMI and audio cables (I think they were planning on taking my whole system), box of change on my bureau, and ALL of my wifes ***elry. The ***elry thing is big, she had thousands of good stuff and lots of sentimental hand me downs.

Still pissed, and violated...but it's all material...

And they could have taken a lot more...

Time for a home security system I guess. Simplisafe is looking good.

it does feel like being violated. Some one egged my wife's car the night of July 4th. My wife was peod about it, I told her until we buy enough property for me to build a wall, fence it in, and set up an outside surveillance system, this is what living in a neighbor hood is about( I wanted to move out in the country)

Hate that for you RKC. It is something I worry about constantly. Not really because I have anything worth taking, it is just the fact that someone would have the nerver to break into my personal space. I keep a machete beside my bed. It will allow me to hack my way to the gun safe. I pity the fool that tries while I'm there.

Well, I ordered the alarm system through simplisafe. I like that it is self install, inexpensive(270) and only 15 a month for monitoring and I can activate and de-activate the monitoring. As my dog (when home) is great security, will only need the monitoring when the dog is away.

We had a recommended by friends\buisinesses company come in last night who is supposed to be far cheaper than the leading security companies. It was 700-900 for equipment and installation, 25 a month for monitoring, need to sign 1 year contract.

Right now I would really like to get all my wifes ***elery back...
