No I have a 25" But the motor low to the water, I have seen a few 30's out there and with a jack plate I could use a 30 and have the power head up out of the water better.

Just have one thing to think about, I also have a bracket, I think with a 27" set back, a jack plate will even come back more to9 maybe 30" or 31" ?? I wonder if that would be am problem?

I think the motor is a nice deal.

$5K maybe, but you have to remember that that thing is a FUEL THIRSTY PIG!!!! They had a fuel gulping reputation right up there with the JOHNSON 2 THIRSTY 5. You can find good used four strokes for what he's asking for that thing.

The OX66 are alot better on gas, but when the original engines were said to burn 20+ GPH at cruise tehy would have to be A WHOLE LOT BETTER ON GAS for me to get one. They're good engines and all, but not holding much re-sale with $4 a gallon gas.

Back when I used to read every boat mag that came out, the Yami 250 (non-HPDI) was KING of fuel sucking. They used like 50% more fuel than the 225 Yami.

I think ya'll are getting the OX66 mixed up with the VX76, thatst the one with the 6 one barrell carbs, they told me in Yamaha school that it was an easy 42 GPH at WOT. The OX66 is no fuel miser, people I know that have run them put them on par with the 3.0 EFI mercs as far as fuel burn goes. They don't have the resale they once had, I've seen them locally for around $3500. I've heard the islanders are buying them out of South Florida to send over there as the OX's aren't as fuel picky as the HDPI's are
