I'm not quite sure I remember makeing a post about a grease for stopping corrosion. I use CORROSION BLOCK spray for stopping most corrosion, and on trailers I use CORROSION X HD(THE BLUE CAN) as it doesn't wash off easily.

"I bought one last year from FASTLOAD in PLANT CITY for $300 after taxes. Bought 6 5/8" bolts and some UHMW to prevent galvanic corrosion. I spent roughly $800 last year completely redoing my aluminum trailer for my flats boat after axle, lights, carpet, rollers, tires and wheels, and other such hardware."

i was thinking"UHMW" was a type of grease. i'm getting pitting where the torsion axel bolts to the al frame. my bad

UHMW is ULTRA HIGH MOLECULAR WEIGHT plastic. It is a super hard plast that you use to isolate the aluminum and galvanized so that corrosion doesn't happen. It's just a barrier between the 2. I bought mine from PLASTICS AMERICA in TAMPA for less than $10. Alot of people use DELRON, but it was 3 times the money.

the navy puts tape between the 2 dissimilar metals to stop corrosion.
