Default Black Sea Bass - Pots

I have gone on a couple of charters leaving from
Indian River Inlet - DELAWARE
and when the fish don't bite, the Cap'n says
pull um up, we'rre goin to the bass pots.

When we get there, there are bouy markers for a number of miles
and we always catch lots of sea bass.

The location is somewhere outside of the mouth to the Delaware bay
and I think they change it, but that far from time to time.

Does anyone know the coordinates of this area?

Parish,

The Bass Pots are usually placed around structure in 80 to 120' of water in the summer time. I fish south of you, so I can't really help there, but the pots will be in the same general area each year. Check your charts for some likely structure in those depths, and I can almost gaurantee you'll find pots there in the season.

Thanks Air, I think I know exactly what structure they may be near.
I have a habit of keeping a mental note of direction traveled
and landmarks. (can't see any from teh structure, but when close enough
to shore, I make a mental note of what I see)

Giorgiod, you would be surprised at the information you can get just by asking.
Soemetimes you have to decifer the clues hidden in conversations,
but the information is ther.

Take a hand held compass the next time out, time how long he travels in one direction then mark, again when he moves how far he goes in one direction. Just ask him how fast the boat goes, you be right on top in no time!
