Default Hey Randleman

here's a pipcture of my 72, its a scanned picture so it came out a little dark, the color is about one shade darker than Petty Blue( figure you could relate to that color). It took about 6 years of off and on work, I drove it everyday for 6 years, after i moved to Charleston from Raleigh, i drove it another year or two, then parked it. she's ready for a redo, bought a house, fixed up a couple of boats and started a family on the way, , so it got put on the back shelf for a while. Once i get my shop built, I'm going to get back on it.

Nice truck spare!

Mine is a daily driver too. I just washed it today and was getting ready to take a pic (all my pics of it are old school, like yours) but I looked at my watch and it was 5 minutes til time to pick up my daughter from dance. I'll get a pic tomorrow so you can see "Ole Green".

I used to drive up to Char Grill on Saturday Nights for the Cruise in, one night i really didn't have time, but seeing I had to go to the grocery store, i jsut happened to stop by on the way home, i got ready to leave, declaring that i had to get home before the groceries got hot. One guy asked me " that what you drive every day?" I said yeah, why not? He asked " what do you do when it rains? I said " just turn the wipers on!" ( yeah I know, it was a smart *** answer, but it just slipped out) The best thing about that truck was that I drove it everywhere. I drove it to Charleston on more than one occasion to see my girlfriend( to be wife), 3.73's, stall convertor and about 9 mpg, I'd drive it like a boat, set the tach on 3500 and ride, every once in a while i'd get fed up with being pased by everthing, so I'd kick it and hold it till about 5800 in high gear, then I'd get back in the right lane and set it back on 3500 and let ever one go by me again. Got a 700R4 for the next tiem around, if it works good enough, i'm going to put 4.10's in it.

OLE GREEN

SP,

You probably already know how, but I can fill you in on how to wire the lock up converter in the 700R4 so it works without the computer. Unless you are gonna use a stall again.

Mine turns around 2K @ 65 mph and I get close to 20 mpg. But I built it mild this time for everyday driving, probably around 325 hp.

Was it the "Little Red Wagon" with the smoke stacks on it like a big rig?
