Default 73 Seacraft Cuddy& Trailer

I have been eyeing a 73 seacraft cuddy for a while now. It has a messed up 200 merc on it. It was in the water this summer and running.
But the motor has real issues!! He hit a rock this summer and destroyed the lower unit and had a used one put on it then he forgot to put oil ion the gas and messed up the motor. It still runs but like I said its going to be toast!

Trailer is in aravege condition as is the Hull. Seems to be pretty sea worthy!

So the question to all you boat guys out there is what do you think it would be worth with no motor?? I no seacraft hold the vaule and are not cheap!! Just what do you think it might be worth?

Thanks guys

I know what you're thinking because we talked about this. I would say between $2000 - $3000 tops! Remember that one in FLA for $3500. Granted that had no motor or trailer but was essentially a new. But, the trailer and motor (as bad as they are) are probably worth something. Especially under your boat. The Seacraft would look good with a Yamaha and a new trailer. ;) You'd probably end up a wash except for your labor. ;D

MJ - Is it a 23ft or a 20ft? I'm knee deep in a seacraft project and I wish I had kept my V20.

If it's a 20ft . . . . check the transom, floor and deck. Don't put a dime into the boat unless all these areas are rock solid.
Also you'll want to make sure the transom has been raised 5" (so it can take your 25" yamaha). If the fuel tank hasn't been replace recently . . . that'll cost you another couple hundred.

If it's a 23 and solid . . . buy it. Those are the best riding boats on the water.

MJ - are you thinking about cleaning it up and selling it? If so . . . . Low ball the guy and see what happens. He might be happy to unload it and not have to pay for winter storage.

I guess I left that out??
It is 23 footer!! It has been on the water a bunch this summer till he had all kinds of engin problems! (Rocks)

My 175 would be way under power for this thing!! So I would have to find a motor some where!!
It has a ok trailer with it.

I love a cuddy and being a 23 footer it has quite the dance floor!!

I guess I will have to go take a look at it again.

I no what the guy is into it and there is no way I am coming close to that price!! And it had a running motor when he bought it also.

But now I have to figure what my boat is worth?? I am so confused ???

Do I really want to do this?? Yea , No, Yea Wife say no, I say yes, I love going off shore , But how offten will I go?? Yes No Yes ::) :o >:( :( ;D

I thought you were talking about a 20'er when we discussed it. You're gonna want at least a 200 hp on there.

Wanna dance sailor? I'll dance with you. ;D :-*
That 23 has a huge cockpit. It'd be a sweet rig. Very tempting.
