Okay,
Well I finally got her home from NJ. What a long weekend that was. But I did manage to get her into the water in NJ. She floats. She runs!! She's MINE!!! Her name, Just One More seems fitting since I already have another V-Step20 (Project boat). But this one runs already!!! And it still seems like a good deal... so it averages down my costs on the 84' Project boat (yes I'm rationalizing things to myself.. lol). Now let me see if I can follow MJ's Photobucket instructions.... they're already on the Gallery. ![]() ![]() ![]() I wasn't thrilled with how the guy loaded her off the lift, but she made the trip home okay. ![]() Okay, let's see if this works.

Yeah, I'd always planned a swim platform for the Project Boat, so this was just another example of why I jumped on this boat... it has a lot of stuff I was going to have to BUY for the Project Boat....
I do need to make a modification.... you can't raise the Outdrive all the way with this swim platform.... found that out the hard way!!! Not a problem for the guy who owned it before, he kept her at the dock and fished her. But since I'm planing on some beachings, I want to be able to clear the drive. No a big deal, I'll just make some modifications now that I have her.

Good looking boat.
Cut the center section of the platform and hinge it. Then you can just flip it over when you want to raise the outdrive. ;)

Thanks Chum!!
I was thinking I'd just cut the two problem slats out, but I like your idea much better. This place is full of good ideas.

My brother had a boat we did that to. We cut the center section and hinged it so that it flipped to one side. Obviously it needed a bracket screwed to the opposite side to support the middle section when flipped closed. This way you retain full functionality of the platform.

I was thinking could you run the hinge parallel to the transon with the sides supported. When you raised the outdrive that section of the swim platform would raise too. You may have to add a panel for the outdrive to ride on. If the platform did not lower automatically it could be spring loaded? Bill Mc ;D

Well,
I'll be the first to admit that the FIRST V-20 turned into a bigger project than expected (or wanted). Buying the 2nd boat just seemed to make sense since I have a month's worth of glass work to do on the old boat, then repower. I got the new boat for less than half what the engine would cost me (before I invested some money in fixing up the trailer). I've decided to replace all the BELLOWS on Just One More before I put her back into the water. The exhaust bellows is swiss cheese, and I have no idea what the shaft bellows looks like (yet). But I don't want to risk it. Two boats... well I (unfortunately) have to live in two places because of work... so when the project boat get's done, it may just stay in Wilmington and I'll keep the other here on the Chesapeake. That's the wild idea... given the expense of trailering up and down I-95, the two boat option might work. But I suspect the Project boat might get sold once the hulls in clean shape, or maybe after repower. You guys would really think I was crazy.... but Capt. Bill (who I actually works with me here in MD) had to talk me out of going to look at this CC V20 in Baltimore last week... at that point it seemed like it'd go for under a $1000 for the hull and trailer... and I figured the yard in Wilmington is pretty damn big and I'm getting practice fixing these things. V20 Fever.
