If any of you boys are headed down here to Beaufort for the Cobia tournament I would not recommend bringing live eels unless you bring a LOT of them. The bluefish are really thick this year and they eat um up very quickly... My dive friends tell me that they are crusing around AR 315 and 320 on the surface at the buoys and that they are on the bottom of the shackelford jetty hole right under the buoy and some are whoppers like 60 to 80lbs. I cant get them to do anything for me so I dont know what to recommend but in the past white or yellow bucktails with green or yellow twister tails has worked ...I dont think they are as stupid as people say they are ... ..Frank

Yes, they love them. I know a guy who keeps them alive in a dock pen and he uses them for everything..Troll up a bunch and if you dont get a cobia , hook em to a jig head and troll for kings...Frank

I dont know about weigh in but you are probably right. I try to stay away from all tournaments unless I get sucked in and I don't fish at all on weekends. I may have to drive one of the sport fishies for the big rock tounament for a buddy of mine who wants to fish it but I am trying my best to stay clear of it. It will be like a zoo out there and if the weather turns to shi# you cant come in..Been there and done that too many times..It does however bring in much needed funds for the local economy and I am all for it. I've seen a lot of new high dollar boats in town the past week getting ready for it with out of state captains driving them . Money of course is no object with these boys but they dont know where the big fishies are....Frank
