OK, HERE YOU GO.
the largest striped bass ever recorded was caught in edenton north carolina in 1891, weighed an amazing 125 pounds (without the head) and is estimated to have been 6 feet long.

OK, so all this giant striper talk had my interested and while searchign around I found this interview with the guy who caught the IGFA striper world record. It is a pretty interestign read. Makes you think twice about wanting to catch a new record.
